"Fortunately, we have now discussed it. I got permission from Dortmund," revealed the 46-year-old in a podcast of the "Hamburger Abendblatt" and confirmed that he was Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar (November 21st December 18).
Addo explained that BVB license leader Sebastian Kehl did not want to install the dream of the World Cup - and that even the possibility exists that he could also "make the international phases in June and September". At the World Cup, however, he would "definitely" look after the team.
Between 1999 and 2006, Addo played a total of 15 international matches for Ghana and most recently worked as an assistant coach for the West Africans. At the Africa Cup in January, in which the "Black Stars" failed in the preliminary round for the first time since 2006, he was not there - BVB had not parked it for the tournament.
At the beginning of February, the Westphalia gave their okay when the Hamburg -born was to take over the office as a national coach.
Shortly afterwards, the 46-year-old led the Ghanaians to the World Cup finals in the Play-Off duels and can now adapt to duels with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
